Product information
‘Lake Flamingo’ is part of the Salgoon series, bred for strong branching, heavy flowering and real toughness in the heat. It throws up sturdy spikes of vivid pink tubular flowers held against dark stems, which gives the plant that lovely contrast.
The bushy habit reaches around 45 to 60cm, and the grey-green foliage is lightly aromatic. Bees and butterflies can’t get enough of it.
Plant in full sun in well-drained soil. It’s drought and heat tolerant once established, making it perfect for a south-facing border, a gravel bed, or a container on a sunny patio. Deadhead spent spikes to keep it flowering from early summer into autumn.
A firm favourite for pots by the door, where it keeps going long after most summer bedding has gone over.
