Prunus ‘Pandora’

‘Pandora’ is one of the best spring cherries for a smaller garden. In late March and April, the branches are smothered in pale pink single flowers, opening before the leaves, so the whole tree looks dusted in blossom. Holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit.

Young leaves emerge bronze-red with the flowers, mature to green through summer, then turn orange-red in autumn. Reaches around 8 to 10m tall with a narrowly upright, then spreading, habit.

Plant in full sun in any well-drained soil. Prune only in midsummer, if at all, to reduce silver leaf risk.

A firm favourite for a small front garden, a lawn corner, or as one of a pair by an entrance.
