Juniperus communis ‘Goldschatz’

‘Goldschatz’ is a slow-growing prostrate golden form of common juniper, with orange-brown young stems and aromatic golden-yellow to yellow-green needle-like leaves, flushing bronze in winter for an extra seasonal interest. Forms a low dense mat to around 1.5m wide.

Adaptable to a wide range of soils including very poor and rocky ones, though best in moist, well-drained ground. Extremely tolerant of low temperatures, frost and exposed positions.

Plant in full sun or partial shade. Low-maintenance and needs no pruning. Brilliant for erosion control on slopes, or as a golden contrast in a rockery or gravel bed.

A firm favourite for ground cover, rock gardens, banks, and poor dry spots where other plants struggle.
