Prunus ‘Snow Showers’

‘Snow Showers’ (sometimes sold as Hillings Weeping) is a dwarf weeping cherry that gives you all the drama of the bigger weeping forms in a compact shape. From late March, pure white flowers cover the pendulous branches, creating an avalanche of cherry blossom for weeks.

Summer brings fresh green foliage, then autumn turns the leaves to orange, gold and scarlet before they drop. Height reaches around 3m with a similar spread, making it suitable for a small garden or even a large container.

Plant in free-draining soil in full sun. Avoid shallow chalk. Minimal pruning, and only after flowering if shape adjustments are needed, taking care not to open silver leaf wounds.

A proper specimen tree for a lawn corner, a courtyard, or in a large pot where its weeping habit can be fully seen.
