Phormium ‘Maori Sunrise’

Phormium ‘Maori Sunrise’ catches the eye with its colourful foliage. The leaves emerge with vivid pink, apricot and buttery yellow stripes along the edges. They sit on grey-green centres. This contrast brightens any garden spot through the seasons.

This cultivar grows to 1-1.2m tall and spreads 1m wide. It forms a clump of upright then arching leaves. Give it fertile, well-drained soil. Full sun brings out the best colours. It copes with coastal conditions and some drought once established.

From our Thurning grounds, we find it low-maintenance. Cut out old leaves in spring if needed. Plant in bold groups or as a focal point in modern borders. Suits containers on patios too.
