Ilex crenata jenny

Ilex crenata ‘Jenny’ offers reliable year-round structure with its dense, small leaves. The foliage stays glossy and dark green through seasons. It mimics boxwood but resists box blight better.

Grows to 1m tall and wide at moderate pace. Forms a tight, rounded habit. Prefers moist but well-drained soil, any type. Thrives in full sun to full shade, even in our shadier nursery beds near Peterborough.

Trim after new growth in summer for shape. Suits formal low hedges, topiary or containers. We’ve used it extensively on our Thurning ground for pest-free hedging.
