Product information
‘Nana’ is the dwarf form of Japanese garden juniper, a prostrate conifer with dense layers of blue-green needle foliage pressed flat against the ground. Eventually reaches just 20 to 30cm tall and spreads 1 to 1.5m wide.
Popular as ground cover, rockery specimen, and one of the most widely-used bonsai subjects in the world, responding well to training and shaping. Fresh tip growth is a brighter fresh green, ageing to deeper blue-green.
Plant in well-drained soil in full sun. Drought-tolerant once settled, copes with poor and rocky ground, exposed sites, and coastal conditions.
A firm favourite for rockeries, low banks, slopes for erosion control, bonsai training, and as a carpeting groundcover among taller evergreens.
