Product information
‘Natchez’ is the classic white-flowered crape myrtle. Long panicles of pure white flowers open from late June into September, and the tree just keeps going — one of the longest-flowering summer shrubs you can grow.
A large shrub or small tree reaching 6 to 9 metres over time, with smooth, cinnamon-brown bark that peels to reveal paler patches underneath. Glossy dark green leaves turn vivid orange-red in autumn, making it a multi-season feature.
Full sun in well-drained soil. It wants heat to flower well, so a south-facing, sheltered spot is best in the UK. Prune in late winter to shape and encourage vigorous new growth, on which the flowers are produced.
