Product information
‘Royal Beauty’ is a weeping crabapple bred for drama. Pendulous branches carry young leaves that emerge reddish-purple and mature to a dark purple-green through summer. Deep pink-red flowers cover the cascading stems in late spring, followed by small dark red fruits in autumn.
It makes a small weeping tree, eventually around 3 to 4m, with the grafted weeping head holding a clear shape. Slow-growing and well-suited to smaller gardens or large pots.
Plant in full sun in any reasonable soil for the strongest leaf colour. Minimal pruning, just remove any damaged or upright-growing shoots to keep the weeping habit.
A proper specimen tree for a front garden, a lawn corner, or a large container feature on a terrace.
