Product information
This beauty catches eyes with its glossy violet berry clusters in autumn. They cling on after leaves drop. Lilac-pink flowers appear in summer. Leaves start bronze-purple, mature to dark green. We’ve grown it for years at our Thurning nursery.
Reaches 1.5-2m tall and wide. Bushy, rounded habit. Prefers fertile, well-drained soil. Full sun to partial shade. Tolerates most soils if not waterlogged.
Prune after flowering to shape. Mulch in spring. Plant in mixed borders or as a hedge. Suits cottage gardens or pots on patios. Berries attract birds.
