Penstemon hartwegii ‘Arabesque Red’

‘Arabesque Red’ is a compact penstemon with large, bell-shaped flowers in red with a clear white throat. The contrast is sharp, and the blooms keep coming through summer into autumn.

It reaches around 45 to 60cm, with the Arabesque series bred specifically for tidy habit and strong stem strength. Good for a mixed border, a cutting patch, or a large container.

Plant in full sun in moist but well-drained soil. Deadhead to prolong flowering, and leave the old foliage on over winter to protect the crown. An All-America Selections winner, for what it’s worth — it’s a proven garden plant.
