Delphinium grandiflorum ‘Diamonds Blue’

‘Diamonds Blue’ is a different sort of delphinium. Instead of the towering English spires, it forms a low bushy mound of lacy green foliage, with loose sprays of vivid electric-blue single flowers, each with a deeper purple splash at the centre.

It reaches around 40 to 60cm, so it sits comfortably at the front of a border or in a container. First-year flowering from seed, blooming right through summer.

Full sun and consistently moist but well-drained soil. Deadhead to keep the display going, and it makes an excellent cut flower.
