Product information
‘February Pink’ is one of the earliest flowering cherries we grow. Delicate light pink flowers open in February or March, before the leaves appear, giving you a proper lift in the tail end of winter when colour is thin on the ground.
It makes a small, spreading deciduous tree or large shrub, eventually 3 to 5m tall. Leaves follow the flowers and turn a warm orange-red in autumn.
Plant in fertile, moist soil in full sun. Avoid a frost pocket, as the early blossom can take a hit from a hard late frost. Minimal pruning, and only in midsummer to reduce the risk of silver leaf.
A cracking small tree for the centre of a front garden, a courtyard, or wherever you’d like early flowers where you’ll see them from the house.
