Product information
‘Aspleniifolia’ is a lovely fern-leaved form of the native rowan. The pinnate leaves are deeply cut and jagged, almost like a fern, giving a much softer, more textural look than the species. Autumn brings warm yellow tones.
Clusters of creamy-white flowers open in late spring, followed by heavy bunches of orange-red berries in autumn that birds love. Forms a small-to-medium tree with an upright habit, eventually around 10m tall.
Plant in any moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Tough and fully hardy, tolerant of most conditions including exposed sites. Minimal pruning.
A beautiful small-garden tree for a front lawn, a woodland edge, or a wildlife-friendly mixed planting.
