Product information

A very popular plant on our Thurning nursery, and for good reason. ‘Rollie’s Favorite’ is a hybrid campion that produces a mass of rich pink, star-like flowers, each with a distinctive white centre. The flowers are held on branching, semi-trailing stems above clumps of dark-green, slightly hairy leaves, and are a magnet for bees and other pollinators.

This is a clump-forming, semi-evergreen perennial, reaching about 45cm in height. It has a pleasing, slightly sprawling habit that works well to soften the edges of paths or raised beds. It prefers a well-drained, moderately fertile soil in full sun or partial shade and dislikes wet winter conditions.

We’ve found it to be a reliable and low-maintenance addition to the garden. To keep the flowers coming, we recommend deadheading regularly, and you can cut the whole plant back by half after the first main flush of flowers to encourage it to bloom again. It’s a wonderful choice for cottage gardens, wildlife areas, and containers.
