Product information
‘Lucifer’ is the ultimate garden crocosmia, bred for height, vigour and that unmistakable flaming red colour. Tall arching spikes of large tubular red flowers open in succession from midsummer over upright pleated green sword-shaped leaves. Holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
Plants reach around 1 to 1.2m in flower and form a steadily expanding clump. Flowers bring in hummingbird-style attention from bees, and make an excellent cut flower for the vase.
Plant corms in moist but well-drained soil in full sun. Mulch in colder winters. Divide congested clumps every 3 to 4 years to keep flowering strong.
A firm favourite for a hot-colour border, a sunny mid-border spot, or weaved through grasses for a contemporary look.
