‘Jurassic Gold’ is a striking selection of Wallich’s wood fern. The new fronds emerge in shades of yellow, gold and orange in spring — almost glowing — and gradually mature to bright green through summer. The colour contrast makes it a real focal point in a shady spot.
It reaches around 60cm tall and 45cm wide, forming a tidy semi-evergreen clump.
Plant in partial to full shade, in moist but well-drained soil. Brilliant in woodland borders, a shaded city garden, or alongside hostas and brunneras where its spring colour really shows.
