Dahlia ‘Arabian Night’

‘Arabian Night’ is one of those long-loved garden dahlias that earns its keep year after year. Fully double, waterlily-form flowers in a rich deep blood-red open in succession from midsummer right through to the first frosts.

Plants reach around 90 to 110cm, forming neat bushy clumps with dark green foliage. The dark flower colour makes it a brilliant partner for hot oranges, pinks and yellows, or a moody foil to silvery grasses.

Plant tubers after the frosts in rich, well-drained soil in full sun. Stake early, feed regularly, and deadhead to keep flowers coming. Lift and store tubers in autumn, or heavy-mulch in mild areas.

A firm favourite for a late-summer border, a pollinator-friendly scheme, or cutting for the vase.
