Product information
‘Drummondii’ is the classic variegated Norway maple, a standout with broad palmate green leaves boldly edged in creamy white. The overall effect is bright and architectural, a proper feature tree.
It’s a large tree, reaching around 12 to 15m tall and 10 to 12m wide, with a rounded crown, so plan for space. Leaves may revert to plain green, so cut out any plain-leaved shoots as soon as they appear to keep the variegation pure.
Plant in any reasonable well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Tough and tolerant of a wide range of conditions. Minimal pruning needed, just remove reverted shoots and any crossing wood in winter.
A proper specimen tree for a large lawn, parkland, or estate planting where it can be seen from a distance.
