Dianthus ‘I Love You’

‘I Love You’ is a compact dianthus with fringed, double flowers that open a rich dark pink and fade through soft rose to near white as they age. You get a mix of tones on the same plant, all above a silvery-green mat of foliage.

It stays low and mounded, and flowers generously through summer with deadheading. Good for the front of a border, a patio pot, or lining a sunny path.

Plant in full sun in sharp-draining, neutral to alkaline soil. Hates sitting wet. The scent is properly old-fashioned clove — worth brushing past.
