Product information
‘Firestarter’ is a bright, fresh introduction to the geum family. Semi-double, fiery-red flowers with prominent golden stamens dance on upright wiry stems from April right through to October, over a neat clump of deeply lobed semi-evergreen foliage.
Plants stay compact at around 30 to 40cm tall and wide, so they sit nicely at the front of a border or in a pot. The flowers are lightly scented and a magnet for bees.
Plant in moist, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade, spaced 30 to 45cm apart. Deadhead spent flowers to keep new buds coming.
A brilliant long-season performer for a sunny border edge, a cottage-garden scheme, or a pot on a patio.
