Product information
Griselinia littoralis brings reliable year-round structure with its bright, rounded leaves. The foliage stays fresh through seasons. We grow it here at our Thurning nursery for hedging jobs that need to hold up in wind.
This shrub grows to 3-10m tall if left alone, but clips neatly to 2m for hedges. It forms a bushy, upright habit. Give it any well-drained soil, from sand to clay loam. Full sun to partial shade suits it fine. Shelter from harsh east winds helps.
Trim hedges after the first flush in late spring, then again in summer if needed. It thrives in mild UK gardens, especially coastal spots near Peterborough. Drought tolerant once established. Plant in borders or pots with care.
