Hebe ‘High Voltage’ catches the eye with its vivid foliage. Leaves emerge a striking golden-yellow, maturing to lime-green. The colour contrast lights up the garden through spring and summer. We’ve grown this compact evergreen in our Thurning fields for reliable colour.
It reaches 0.5m tall by 0.6m wide. Growth stays neat and bushy. Plant in fertile, well-drained soil. Full sun brings out the best yellow tones. Tolerates partial shade too.
Water newly planted ones well until established. Trim lightly after the first flush if needed. It suits front borders, patio pots or as groundcover. Holds its shape through mild UK winters.
