Product information
Pittosporum tenuifolium ‘Elizabeth’ catches the eye with its variegated foliage. The small, oval leaves show off bright creamy margins against deep green centres. They hold colour through the seasons. In late spring, expect a light flush of small, dark purple flowers with a sweet honey scent. Bees love them here at the nursery.
This cultivar grows to around 3m tall and wide with a dense, rounded habit. It suits fertile, well-drained soil. Plant in full sun to partial shade for best variegation. Shelter from cold winds protects the leaves. We’ve grown it successfully on our Thurning ground.
Water well in the first season to establish roots. Mulch annually. Prune lightly after flowering to shape. Fits coastal gardens, mixed borders or large containers. Tolerates mild salt air near Peterborough.
