Standard Roses

Standard roses are roses trained on a tall clear stem, lifting the flowering head up to eye level. They make beautiful focal points in a border or by a path, and they pair well with low planting around the base, such as lavender, geraniums, or low box.

At Tandee & Van den Berk Nurseries Ltd, we offer a small but reliable selection of standard roses, chosen for repeat flowering, fragrance and disease resistance. Each one is grown to give a clean stem and a well-shaped head.

Plant in a sunny, open spot with rich, well-drained soil. Stake them properly (a tall standard catches the wind), and feed once in spring and again after the first flush. Visit the nursery to see the heads in person; it’s the easiest way to choose.
