Product information

‘Braeburn’ is one of the world’s most popular modern dessert apples, raised in New Zealand in the 1950s as a chance seedling. Medium-to-large fruits ripen greenish-yellow flushed with red stripes, with firm crisp juicy cream-white flesh and a properly balanced sweet-sharp aromatic flavour.

Reliable cropper, though needs a warm position to ripen fully in the UK. Fruits ripen in October-November and keep extremely well into spring.

Plant in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil, ideally sheltered from cold winds to help ripen the fruit. Partially self-fertile, cropping improves with a compatible pollination partner.

A firm favourite for kitchen gardens, family orchards, and trained espalier forms on sunny walls.
