Product information
‘Balmy Lilac’ is part of the modern Balmy series, bred for compact habit and good mildew resistance compared to older bergamots. Rich lilac-purple whorl-like flowers open in mid to late summer, held above aromatic dark green foliage that smells properly of bergamot when brushed.
Plants stay dwarf at around 25 to 35cm tall, making them ideal for the front of a border or a container.
Plant in moderately fertile, moist soil in full sun or partial shade. Divide clumps every few years. A magnet for bees, butterflies and pollinators.
A firm favourite for small-space pollinator planting, patio pots, and front-of-border placing in cottage-style schemes.
