Product information
Sorbus ‘Dodong’, sometimes sold as ‘Olympic Flame’, was collected from the South Korean island of Ulleungdo and named after its port. It’s a small tree with a distinctly upright habit when young, broadening a little as it matures.
Large pinnate leaves stay glossy dark green all summer, then put on one of the best autumn shows you’ll see on a rowan, turning fiery orange through to deep red. White flowers in spring give way to plump orange-red berry clusters in autumn.
It eventually reaches around 8m tall, which makes it one of the better rowans for smaller gardens. Plant in full sun for the strongest autumn colour, in moist but well-drained soil.
A cracker for a front garden or specimen spot where you’ll see it every day.
