Product information
This is a real breakthrough for Sea Thrift, and we’ve been impressed with it on the nursery. The ‘Dreameria’ series has been bred for a much longer flowering season, giving you these lovely bright pink, pom-pom flowers from late spring often right through to autumn. The flowers are held on thicker, sturdier stems than older varieties, above tidy mounds of evergreen, grass-like leaves.
It forms a compact, mounded clump, typically reaching about 30cm in height and spread. Armeria is a classic coastal plant, so it demands excellent drainage and a spot in full sun to perform at its best. It’s not fussy about soil type, happily growing in sandy, loamy, or even clay soils provided they don’t get waterlogged. It’s a hardy perennial through most of the UK.
This is a low-maintenance plant that really delivers. To get the most from it, just trim off the faded flower stalks every month or so to encourage a continuous display. It’s perfect for those hot, dry spots in the garden where other plants might struggle and works brilliantly in pots, rock gardens, or as edging along a path.
