Product information

A popular plant on our Thurning ground, and for good reason. ‘Dalmatian White’ is a reliable foxglove that often flowers in its first year, which is a real bonus. The clean white flowers are held on sturdy, upright stems and have attractive, deep purple freckles in their throats, guiding bees and other pollinators inside.

This is a compact foxglove, typically reaching about 50-60cm in height. It forms a low rosette of green, oblong leaves at its base in the first year. It performs best in full sun or partial shade in moist, well-drained soil. It prefers soil that’s had plenty of organic matter, like compost, worked in.

To get the most from it, deadhead the first spent flower spikes to encourage more to develop. It’s a short-lived perennial or biennial but will often self-seed if you leave the last flower spikes in place. It’s perfect for the middle of a border, in woodland-edge plantings, or even in larger containers.
