Product information
Spiraea japonica ‘Candlelight’ catches the eye with its vivid golden-yellow leaves from spring. They hold colour well into summer before warming to orange tones. Small pink flowerheads appear in clusters above the foliage in summer, drawing pollinators to our Thurning nursery borders.
This compact deciduous shrub grows to 0.6-0.8m tall and wide. It forms a neat, rounded mound. It thrives in fertile, well-drained soil. Full sun brings the best leaf colour, though it copes with partial shade.
Prune after flowering to keep it tidy. It suits mixed borders, low hedges, or containers. We’ve grown this reliable variety for years here in Peterborough.
