Product information
‘Balmy Pink’ is part of the Balmy series, bred for compact habit and improved mildew resistance compared to older bergamots. It carries rich deep pink whorl-like flowers in mid to late summer, held above aromatic dark green foliage that smells properly of bergamot when brushed.
Plants stay dwarf at around 25 to 35cm tall, making them ideal for the front of a border or a container, where the older taller bergamots would outgrow their spot.
Plant in moderately fertile, moist soil in full sun or partial shade. Keep the crown fairly moist but not waterlogged, and divide clumps every few years. A magnet for bees, butterflies and the occasional visiting hummingbird moth.
A firm favourite for small-space pollinator planting, patio pots, and front-of-border placing in a cottage-style scheme.
