Campanula portenschlagiana ‘Catharina’

‘Catharina’ is a Dalmatian bellflower that delivers. The low carpet of small heart-shaped evergreen leaves disappears under masses of bell-shaped lilac-blue flowers from June right through to September.

It reaches around 20cm tall and spreads to about 30cm, trailing beautifully over the edge of a wall, a raised bed, a hanging basket, or out of a pot.

Full sun or partial shade, any reasonable well-drained soil. Very low maintenance — a light trim after the main flush often brings another round of flowers.
