Phormium ‘Pink Panther’ catches the eye with its sword-like leaves. They feature bold pink centres and creamy margins. The variegation stays fresh through seasons. We grow it in our Thurning pots for that sharp contrast.
This clump-forming perennial reaches 1m tall and wide. It grows steadily in fertile, well-drained soil. Full sun brings out the best pink tones. It copes with partial shade too. Shelter from harsh winds in cooler spots.
Keep soil moist but not waterlogged. Cut out old leaves at the base in spring. It suits coastal gardens, modern borders or large containers. Drought tolerant once established.
