Product information

We’re big fans of the Inticancha series and ‘Magic White’ is a particularly good one. It produces masses of white, funnel-shaped flowers from early summer right into autumn. Each bloom has lovely soft pink and yellow splashes with fine burgundy streaks, held on sturdy stems above the leaves. They are fantastic for cutting and last for ages in a vase.

This is a compact, clump-forming perennial, reaching about 30-40cm in height. It has a tidy, mounded habit that doesn’t become invasive. For the best results, plant it in a sunny or lightly shaded spot that’s sheltered from strong winds. It needs fertile, moist soil that drains well; it won’t thank you for waterlogged conditions.

A great tip for all alstroemerias is to pull the spent flower stems gently from the base rather than cutting them. This encourages the plant to produce even more flowers. It’s a reliable and easy plant to grow, perfect for pots on the patio or filling gaps at the front of a border where it will flower its heart out for months.
