Product information
We’ve been really impressed with the ‘Inticancha’ series, and ‘Paraiso’ is a highlight. It produces masses of rich, velvety purple flowers, each with a little splash of yellow and dark speckles in the throat. The flowers keep coming from early summer right through to the first frosts, offering colour for a huge part of the season.
This is a well-behaved, compact plant, forming a neat and bushy clump of dark green, lance-shaped leaves. It typically reaches about 35 to 40cm in height, making it much shorter than older varieties. It thrives in a sunny or lightly shaded, sheltered spot in fertile, well-drained soil. It doesn’t like to sit in wet conditions, so good drainage is key.
For the best show, give it a feed during the growing season. To keep the flowers coming, don’t cut the spent stems; instead, grasp the base of the stem and pull it firmly from the ground. It’s a reliable plant we’ve seen do brilliantly in containers on the nursery patio.
