Product information
Bergenia ‘Rotblum’ is one of the best forms for winter colour. The large, wavy-edged green leaves flush bronze-red as the weather turns cold, which gives a long run of interest right through the darker months.
In spring, sturdy red stems carry clusters of rosy-red flowers above the foliage, catching the eye across a border. Plants form a steadily spreading clump to around 50cm tall and wider, low and solid at ground level.
Plant in humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. It’s drought-tolerant once settled, but happiest with regular moisture. Divide clumps every few years to refresh.
A firm favourite for edging a path, filling an awkward spot at the front of a shady border, or providing a long-season ground cover.
