Camellia × williamsii ‘Jury’s yellow’

Camellia x williamsii ‘Jury’s Yellow’ brings one of the clearest yellow flowers to the camellia family. Blooms appear as peony-like doubles, up to 10cm across. They open from late winter into spring on our Thurning nursery grounds. Buds start plump and pink, then fade to soft yellow petals.

Grows to 2-3m tall and wide with an upright, bushy habit. Prefers acidic, humus-rich soil that stays moist but drains well. Shelter from cold winds and morning sun. Partial shade suits best, though it takes more light than many camellias.

Deadhead spent flowers to keep shape tidy. Mulch yearly with ericaceous compost. Plant in a shady border, woodland edge or large container. We’ve grown this reliable hybrid for years at Tandee & Van den Berk.
