Kniphofia ‘Poco Citron’

‘Poco Citron’ is a dwarf form of red hot poker with cool colours rather than the classic hot reds. Upright flower spikes transition from lime-green in bud to lemon-yellow, finally fading to cream as they age, giving several colour tones on the plant at once.

Plants stay compact at around 40cm tall and wide, making them ideal for smaller spaces, rock gardens and containers.

Plant in full sun in deep, moist but well-drained soil. Mulch in cold winters for protection. Deadhead spent flower stems to keep the display tidy.

A firm favourite for a cool-colour scheme, a gravel bed, a pot on a sunny terrace, or weaved through grasses.
