Product information
‘Mirabelle de Nancy’ is a heritage French plum, one of the classic mirabelles grown in Lorraine for centuries. Small round golden-yellow fruits with a warm rose blush ripen in late August, with honey-sweet juicy flesh that’s first-class eaten fresh, in tarts, jam, or distilled into mirabelle eau de vie.
Partially self-fertile and heavy cropping. Pretty white blossom opens in April. Trees are vigorous and form a rounded crown to around 4 to 5m.
Plant in full sun in fertile, moist but well-drained soil, sheltered from late frosts. Prune in midsummer only, to avoid silver leaf.
A proper heritage choice for a kitchen garden, an orchard corner, or as a trained fan on a sunny wall.
