Product information
‘Regina’ is a modern German-bred sweet cherry, widely planted for its exceptional fruit quality. Large dark red to nearly black cherries ripen in mid to late July, two or three weeks later than most varieties, with firm juicy flesh and a rich sweet flavour. Notably crack-resistant in wet weather, which is a big plus in a UK climate.
Trees are vigorous and productive. Not self-fertile, so plant with a compatible pollination partner. Good disease resistance compared to older cultivars.
Plant in full sun in moist, well-drained soil. Prune in midsummer only, to avoid silver leaf. Net against birds as the fruit ripens.
A proper modern choice for a kitchen garden, a family orchard, or a trained fan on a sunny wall.
