Product information
‘Nana’ is the dwarf form of the Indian bean tree, grown as a grafted standard for its neat ball-shaped crown. Large heart-shaped pale green leaves cover the tight round head, giving a properly architectural look, especially when the tree is used as a formal pair.
It doesn’t flower or produce the long bean pods of the species, and stays compact, typically reaching around 3m tall with a head of 2 to 3m across, depending on how it’s clipped.
Plant in well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade, sheltered from strong winds. Prune back hard in late winter each year to keep the ball tight and encourage fresh large leaves.
A cracking formal specimen for a driveway entrance, either side of a front door, or as a pair in a formal lawn.
