Product information
‘Pink Cascade’ is a refined selection of tamarisk, with arching reddish-brown stems carrying feathery grey-green foliage like a cloud on the lawn. In late summer, plumes of small soft-pink flowers smother the branch tips, giving a mist-like froth that lasts for weeks.
It makes a large graceful shrub or small tree, eventually around 4 to 5m. Brilliantly tough against coastal conditions, salty winds, and poor dry soils.
Plant in full sun in well-drained soil. Pruning matters: cut back hard in early spring each year to keep the plant compact and encourage the best flowering on the new growth.
A proper statement plant for a coastal garden, a dry sunny border, or a gravel bed where the pink froth shines in late summer.
