Dianthus ‘Tickled Pink’

‘Tickled Pink’ is one of the prettiest modern pinks. Double, fringed flowers in a glowing warm pink sit on short stems above a tight cushion of silvery-blue evergreen foliage, with a soft, spicy clove-like fragrance.

Plants stay small, around 15 to 25cm tall in flower, forming a tidy cushion of grey-blue leaves. Main flush is late spring and often a second flush in early autumn. Holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit.

Plant in full sun in well-drained soil. Sharp drainage is essential, especially in winter, as dianthus crowns rot in wet ground. Brilliant in a raised bed, rockery, gravel, trough, or patio pot where the fragrance lifts as you brush past.

A firm favourite for edging paths, tucking into a sunny corner, or picking small scented posies for the kitchen window.
