Lupin ‘Legendary Red’

‘Legendary Red’ brings vivid cherry-red to the lupin palette. Dense, pea-like flower spikes rise above palm-shaped blue-green foliage, on stems strong enough to stand up to British summers without staking.

It reaches around 0.5 to 1 metre, forming an upright, clump-forming perennial. Classic cottage-garden material, and a good contrast to blue and white lupins.

Plant in full sun in moist but well-drained soil. Keep an eye on slugs in spring. Deadhead for a second, lighter flush of flowers later in the season.
