Product information
‘Blenheim Orange’ is a famous Oxfordshire heritage apple raised in the 1700s at Blenheim Palace. Large fruits ripen with golden-orange skin flushed and striped red, with firm crisp cream-yellow flesh and a distinctive rich nutty flavour. Dual-purpose, brilliant for eating fresh and cooking.
Fruits ripen in October and keep well into December. Triploid variety, so needs two other compatible pollinators nearby for good cropping. Reliable but takes several years to reach full production.
Plant in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil. Winter-prune for framework. Good tolerance of a wide range of conditions.
A proper heritage choice for a kitchen garden, heirloom orchard, or trained fan on a sunny wall.
